Kahlil Gibran - And God said love your enemy and I obeyed him and loved myself.

I’m reading Oscar Hartmann’s book Просто делай! Делай просто! (Do it Simply. Simply Do it). In it, he mentions a businessman who built his entire activity around copying other people’s businesses. And apparently, around 90% of his businesses go bankrupt, while the other 10% are a success and cover the losses of the failed ones with their profits. This businessman is also constantly yelling and rushing his staff. A nutcase on my mind. What’s interesting is what motivates someone like that. He is a some kind of killer shark or cancer cell. It’s comparable to such highly profitable but unsustainable businesses that selling cigarettes and alcohol, for example.

For some reason, since childhood, I believed that to achieve success, you had to create a unique idea of your own. But later, working in different companies, I realized that many just copy and don’t even hesitate to try to destroy the business they copied once they’ve done it. Like the law of the jungle and all that. It’s like when three pharmacies open in the same long, multi-entrance building next door to each other. It’s like that whole “red ocean” concept… you either have to dig into an already crowded field and start competing, or come up with a unique product – but then wealthier competitors can just copy it quickly and you get nothing.

So in the end, all that’s left is to rely on God’s will and the idea that you have developed your karma strong enough to get a positive result out of your activity. So… simply do it.
