I just heard something from a Russian philologist – here’s the link to her video in Russian: vk.com/wall-130890040_29941.

She said that in ancient human societies, when a man went hunting for food and the mother stayed in the cave with a baby (and couldn’t get food for herself), the male had two choices:

Eat all the food by himself without sharing – and then the female and the baby would die.

Share the food with female and child and then the whole group would survive and population will grow.

This reminded me of my own personal experience with a little “society” of rats.

I once had a male and a female rats living in the same cage. (I didn’t know they had to be separated to different cages when not breeding, honestly I’m really ashamed of that now, I’m sorry.)

The female rat was constantly pregnant. I gave the babies to a pet store, and she got pregnant again right away.

The thing is even though I fed them well, the male rat would still sometimes eat the babies.

And not only that – he would also fuck the babies rats (his own daughters!). I found out about this by accident. I gave a baby rat to a friend, and later found out that this rat gave birth even though she lived alone…

So after seeing how this rat society works, I realized: I don’t want that. I’d rather be alone in my own cage than live with a male like that. I dont want to get into hopeless situation when I cant earn relying on a male who can decide one day that he doesnt want to feed female and child but want to fuck\eat own children. The probability of unhappy result of a marriage is too high to take the risk.

And I think none of the women likes to hear after childbirth – eggs producers are not made to cock-a-doodle-doo.

Yesterday I realized that I think about solipsism very often. I think that I cling to the idea that life is one and that this historical passage is universal for all incarnations. I feel there’s nothing to be found in science except for space travel and the evolution of cyborgs. So that will be it for the next 40 years, if I survive… So yesterday I was listening to a lesson about the pre-historical period of humanity and found out that humans have millions of years of history, but Homo sapiens only about 40,000 years of history… I really can’t understand such huge numbers. I think that a person, even during a 30-year lifespan (as was before), could have invented seed growing and animal domestication within a single lifetime. Yet scientists say there were millions of years of evolution. In moments like this, I feel this information is like a bug on the prism of my solipsism, very close, like in The Matrix. And in this bug, all the people around me somehow believe it and don’t doubt it.
